William Eugene Potter, 96, of Paragould, Ark., formerly of Jet, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at his residence.
He was a craftsman and of the Baptist faith. Bill was a Mason his entire life. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Bill served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant Combat Engineer during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
He was the son of the late Willard and Leona Potter. Bill was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Rose Potter; his brother Bob Potter; and his sister, Helen Steele.
Survivors include his daughters, Billie Redmon, Wright City, Mo.; and Georgie Redmon, Paragould, Ark.; brother, Charles (Jinny) Potter, Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Cherokee. A graveside funeral service follows at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery, north of Jet.
