A graveside service for Verleen Joan (Martin) Harrington, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evan Funeral Home.
She was born October 13, 1930, in Aline, OK, to Arbie and Zella Martin and died Monday, April 14, 2025, at Senior Brookdale Living.
Verleen was known for her extensive hummingbird collection, and every member of the family has been gifted with one of her beautiful, crocheted blankets. She made a great lemon cake, salted caramel brownies and red-hot Jello. She especially enjoyed her many afternoon visits and spoiling her great-grandson, Everett.
She graduated high school in Aline and on February 18, 1948, she married Leo Paul Harrington at Alva. They moved around quite a bit for Leo's work before retirement in Enid in 1985.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Paul Harrington; her son, Mike (and wife Shirley) Harrington; daughter, Kathy Coleman; and grandson, William Coleman.
She is survived by two sons, Tim (wife Connie) of Porter, Texas, and Pat of West Monroe, La.; nine grandchildren, Sean, Brian, Christopher, Matt, Chris, Chelsea, Jeremy, Kaitlin and Keely; 23 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
