Rebekah Gail Sperry Obituary

Winfield, KS - Rebekah Gail Sperry, 47, was born on January 3, 1978, in Houston, TX, to William and Connie Jo (Schroeder) Sperry. She passed away on October 30, 2025, in Wichita, KS.

Rebekah was an avid adventurer, and she grew up facing each new challenge with determination and grit. When she was three, she learned to swim and dive and never gave up learning to become a better swimmer or to not make a splash from the high dive. As a preschooler, she began taking gymnastics but switched to ballet in kindergarten and danced for the Houston Ballet Production of "The Nutcracker" while in grade school. She learned karate and then learned to sail on Grand Traverse Bay. As a teen, she went deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico with her family and caught the biggest Barracuda of the day, hauling her prize into the boat all by herself.

She loved the water but also the beauty of her natural surroundings. We always said she never found a trail in the deep woods that she didn't want to try and explore. She was fearless in her friendships, too. She always defended her friends when she believed they were being mistreated by others.

She will be missed by her parents, William T. and Connie Sperry; two sons, Abram Jarvis and River Jarvis of Tulsa, OK; one brother, William J. Sperry and family, Tulsa, OK; two sisters, her twin Elizabeth J. Sperry of Traverse City, MI, and Jennifer M. Steinorth and family of Traverse City, MI; and all those compatriots who, like Rebekah, fearlessly work in some way to make a difference in the lives of others.

Rebekah is preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy William Sperry and Beulah Marie (Bratcher) Sperry, Carl John Schroeder and Flonnie Ethel (Wells) Schroeder.

As a nurse, Battered and Abused Women were important to Rebekah. If desired, give to an organization that helps Battered and Abused Women.

Services will be at a later time. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
