Marshall, Oklahoma - Funeral service for Lucille Hayward will be Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Hayward Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory, Enid.
Lucille was born December 29, 1938, in Orlando, Oklahoma, to Frank Edwin and Ethel Etta (Ingmire) Kriethe and passed away peacefully at her home on the family farm, rural Marshall, on December 29, 2025.
She graduated from Covington High School in 1956. On November 15, 1958, she married Raymond Hayward in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Enid. They made their home in Enid, and she worked as a beautician and secretary for the Girl Scouts of America. Lucille and Raymond made their home in Carthage, Texas, for 15 years. Then they made their home on the farm east of Marshall in 1999. Lucille grew up as a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Covington. Lucille and Raymond were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church while they lived in Enid. Lucille's most favorite thing was visiting with and enjoying pictures and videos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Allie Joyce Miller; brother, Jack Kriethe.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Raymond of the home; three children, Sandy (Keith) Downing, Ray (Jeannie) Hayward, Jr, Kathy (John) Jackson; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
