Linda was born August 28, 1942, in Oklahoma City, to Edward Petersen and Hazel Cole Petersen. She passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Linda spent her early years in western Oklahoma until her family moved to California to pursue new opportunities. It was there she met a lifelong friend, Marlene, and graduated from Anaheim High School in 1960. Following her graduation, her family returned to Oklahoma.

Linda attended college at Panhandle A&M University in Goodwell, OK, where she met her future husband, Robert Milacek. The two were married on January 25, 1964, in Clayton, NM. After residing in Owasso and Glencoe for a few years, Linda and Robert made their home in Waukomis in 1969, where they lived for 32 years and raised their family.

Linda worked at Waukomis Schools for over 20 years. She also played an important role in her husband Robert's political career. Linda helped Robert successfully campaign for the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1976-1982 and the Oklahoma Senate from 1997-2004.

Linda was a devoted mother to her three daughters. She never missed a daughter's high school basketball game or school event. Linda was also a wonderful gardener and had a beautiful yard of flowers every year. Robert and Linda loved living in Waukomis and had many wonderful friends. In 2001, they moved to Enid, where she lived until her passing. Linda had so many true, dear friends. She loved spending time with each of them, including shopping trips, daily walks, or just visiting on the phone.

Linda was elated when her first grandson was born in 2004, followed by four more grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in spending time with each of them and would never miss an opportunity to spoil them! She loved going on outings with them, including nail appointments with her granddaughters and dinners with her grandsons.

Linda will be dearly missed and will be remembered by all those who loved her. She is survived by her daughters: Pam Milacek of Tulsa; Kim and husband Jon Blankenship of Enid; and Stephanie and husband Randy Smith of Tulsa. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sam and Presley Blankenship, and Seve, Kira and Sela Smith; step-grandchildren: Jon Ryan, Will, and Madison Blankenship; sisters: Nelia Padgett of Lexington, Kentucky, and Bette Petersen of Tulsa; and cousins: Gordon Thomas, Dana Kay Hartley. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Robert Milacek and her two cousins, Gene Johnson and Georgia Sue Nix.

Linda was a long-time member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
