Laverne/May, Oklahoma - Kyle Reese Hennigh, 70, of May, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family.

Kyle was born January 2, 1956, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Donald Leon Hennigh and Peggy Pauline (Johnston) Hennigh. Raised in Laverne, Oklahoma, he graduated with the Laverne High School class of 1974 and attended Panhandle State University.

On August 22, 1975, he married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia ("Cindy") Lynn Rogers, and together they made their lifetime home on Clear Creek near May, Oklahoma.

Kyle worked in the oil and gas industry for 40 years, beginning with Sun Gas Company in 1976 and retiring from Sheridan in 2016. Alongside his oil field career, he ran family livestock operations, including Clear Creek Durocs and Hennigh Angus, and spent nearly 30 years as a highly respected farrier, shoeing everything from ranch stock to world champion barrel horses and Kentucky Derby thoroughbreds.

A devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Laverne, Kyle served his community as a Boy Scout leader, Laverne School Board member, and supporter of local FFA and 4-H programs. Above all, Kyle treasured his family — raising his children in Northwest Oklahoma, and cheering on his four grandsons, who knew him as "Pekaw," at countless ballgames and fishing tournaments.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of the home; son Kaleb and wife Mandy and their children, Karsen and Jase, of Enid, Oklahoma; daughter Carrie and husband Stephen and their children, Tristan and Grayson, of Aledo, Texas; brother Don and wife Sharon of Hennessey, Oklahoma; and many extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kyle's name to the May and Laverne Volunteer Fire Departments, the Laverne Cemetery, or Laverne Ambulance Service.
