Jerry Lee Mason Obituary

Jerry Lee Mason, 74, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kan., after a short illness. He was born June 30, 1941, in Medford to Mervin and Flora (Ragan) Mason.

Jerry grew up in Byron and moved with his family to Washington state, then moving back to the area, and graduating from Anthony High School. An avid bowler, Jerry took a job with Fred Wetz at Paradise Bowl in Kiowa.

He met and married Peggy Miller in 1966. They would have been married 50 years June 4, 2016.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin and Flo Mason; his brothers, Dewey and Dorthea Mason; Milton and Lavonna Mason; and Darrel and Martha Mason.

Jerry is survived by his wife Peggy of Kiowa, Kan.; son, Todd Mason and his wife, Audra, of Ponca City; daughter, Jody Mason Hart, of Enid; grandchildren, Taylor and Cole Mason; Megan and Bryson Hart; brothers, Albert Mason and his wife, Dolores; and Harry Mason and his wife, Dianna Mason; sisters, Betty Woods and her husband, Ed; and his twin sister, Janet Hardin and her husband, Merle; and many loving nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.

A Celebration of Life is 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Kiowa United Methodist Church. Visitation is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, and 2-7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016, with the family present from 4-7 p.m., at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Interment is at Riverview Cemetery, under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Memorials may be contributed to the family, through the funeral home, or to a charity of your choice. ­­
