Inez "Elgeva" Mack Obituary
Bison, Oklahoma - Mass of Christian Burial for Elgeva Mack will be Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Reverend John Herrera celebrant. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with visitation with the family following.
Inez Elgeva Mack was born on September 11, 1944, in Boise City, Oklahoma, to James Albert and Nina Mae (Baker) Kohler and passed away surrounded by her loving family February 14, 2026, in Oklahoma City after a sudden illness.
She grew up in Boise City and graduated from Boise City High School. Elgeva then went to Oklahoma Panhandle State College, where she met the love of her life, Leroy Mack.
On May 30, 1964, they married in Guymon and made their home on the family farm near Bison. Elgeva was a devoted mother, farmer's wife and 4-H leader. She was happiest taking care of her family, making special meals for those sitting at her table. Elgeva was known for her popcorn balls, fried chicken and delicious desserts. After her children were grown, she went to work in the Bison Post Office, where she retired after many years of service.
Elgeva was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters-in-law, playing Bunco with friends and making daily trips to Sonic. Ultimately, Elgeva was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
Elgeva was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Claude Kohler; son, Charles Mack; great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Amburn.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy; children and their spouses, Roy and Jody Mack, Kressa and Chris Benkendorf, daughter-in-law, Kim Mack; brother and his wife, Jimmy and Sally Kohler; 8 grandchildren, Chrissy (Aaron) Amburn, Andrew (Rylie) Mack, Rylee (Travis) Schnaithman, Kacie (Reid) LeGrand, Mackenna (Cole) Hammock, Chandler (Hannah) Benkendorf, Payton Benkendorf, Emma Benkendorf; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many friends.
