Harlan Dale Strait, age 90, of Jet, OK, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Enid, OK. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Bethel Hawley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Lillie officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Cemetery, west and south of Nash.

On April 6, 1935, Harlan was born to Stan and Ida (Evans) Strait. He was the fifth of seven children. He attended grade and high school at Nash Public Schools and soon after joined the U.S. Army to serve his country.

He married his sweetheart, Fae Hutcheson, on June 26, 1956. She accompanied him on his stint in the Army for the next two years.

After service to his country, he managed several grain elevators at Kiowa and Argonia, KS, and Jet, Billings and Nash, OK, which he enjoyed so much! Harlan was a farmer at heart, so a job like this fit him perfectly!

Harlan loved to hunt and fish, so after retirement he and Fae spent their summers in South Fork, CO, in their cozy little camper. He caught lots of fish and made a lot of friends!

In 1949, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Christian Church in Nash. Life wasn't always perfect, but he relied a lot on the Lord to get him through the tough trials of life.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Roxi) Strait and Jerry (Billie Jean) Strait; one sister, Charlotte (Larry) Slaving; grandchildren, Andrew, Shawna, Cass, Trae, Jennifer, Bill and Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Boston, Addison, Dominic, Montoya, Luke, Claire, and Gavin.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Jan; parents, Stan and Ida Strait; sisters, Leora and Bonnie; and brothers, Delmar, Francis (Dutch) and Edwin.

Harlan was a man of many talents. He loved people and will be missed by a host of family and friends.
