Gary Qualls Obituary

Enid, Oklahoma - Gary Qualls, 75, peacefully made his ascent to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his home in Enid, surrounded by his loving family. We find peace knowing His Lord greeted him with the words, "Gary, You fought the good fight, You finished the race, You kept the faith."

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Enid. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., of Helena. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Gary was born on September 12, 1949, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Eston and Freda (Smith) Qualls, both of whom preceded him in death.

The family moved to Enid in 1952. Gary was a graduate of Enid High School in 1967. After attending Northwestern State College, Gary enlisted in the United States National Guard on January 12, 1970, where he was an Artillery Surveyor and a Sharpshooter. He was Honorably Discharged on January 11, 1976.

Gary began a very successful, 40-year career with the United Parcel Service in 1971. In 2007, he was one of the first 13 inductees into the UPS Circle of Honor for 35 years of service and 35 years of safe driving. He retired from UPS after 40 years of service.

On October 14, 1993, Gary married the love of his life, Sue Jenlink, of Jet. Although Gary had no biological children of his own, he became "Papa Gary" to Sue's children, whom he loved as his own. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue, and children Jeff Jenlink, Jay (Stephanie) Jenlink and Jason (Melissa) Jenlink, all of Jet, and Jaime Hays and Joy (Mark) Frye, of Enid. He adored their grandchildren: Allen, Cassidy, Cade (Addison), Ethan, Hannah, Chloe, Kaleigh, Kamdyn, Killian, Judah and Jade.

Gary is also survived by two brothers, Terry (Beverly) Qualls and Jerry (Joy) Qualls of Enid; his cherished Aunt Imogene Farris, with whom he shared his birthday; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gary left a legacy of love for God, his family and his country. He and Sue were active members of Awakening the Fire Ministries until his illness. Gary had a heart for feeding the hungry and loved working with the food pantry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Awakening the Fire Ministries — Food Pantry — through the Funeral Home.
