Ella Mae Dale (Phillip)
August 25, 1932 - July 6, 2026
DODGE CITY — Ella Mae Dale, 93, died Monday, July 6, 2026, at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City, Kansas. She was born August 25, 1932, at Cherokee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Floyd and Mabel (George) Campbell.
She and James Robert took great pride in showing their shorthorn steers in FFA competitions. In 1951 she was crowned FFA Queen and graduated from Jet High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Rainbow and Eastern Star and United Methodist Church. She moved from Jet to Dodge City in 2012.
On October 11, 1952, she married Neal Jay Dale at Jet. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2004.
She had a love for animals, knitting and crocheting, sewing, puzzles, and playing games with family and friends. She loved to paint landscapes on just about anything: canvas, tables, and saw blades.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jamie Morris and husband Al, Dodge City; one son, Randy Dale and wife Melissa, Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Erik Morris, Sarah Kinder, Spencer Morris and Maeredith Dao; 4 great-grandchildren, Alaina, Sophie, Brynlee and Paisley; her brother, George Myrick, Jet; her sister, Anna Louise Willits, Mustang, Oklahoma; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Myrick; a brother, James Robert Campbell; and a sister, Jane Lord.
A gathering of friends will be at 12:00 p.m., noon, August 25, 2026, at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. There will be no public viewing; cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery in Jet in the fall.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
