Edithe B Haskins Obituary

Edithe B. Haskins was ushered into the presence of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on January 14, 2019. She was born in Clay County, Texas, on December 23, 1925.

She earned her Associate Nursing Degree from Paris Junior College, Paris, Texas, passing her National Boards, then earning her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Texas, Tyler. She passed on her nursing skills and knowledge to Practical Nursing students at Autry Career and Technical Center in Enid. Committed to her profession, she strove to ensure that her students were equipped to provide quality care for their patients.

As a fully devoted follower of Jesus, she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Enid for many years until she moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, where she continued her worship at Crossings Community Church and Quail Springs Baptist Church. Her diligent study of the Bible and her grasp of its truths can be matched by only a few individuals. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. The landscape around her home was the envy of many and admired by all who saw it. Her quiet and kind demeanor and her obedient devotion to Christ served as a role model for others to follow.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. Carmichael; her parents Charles and Emma Blackburn; her two brothers RJ Blackburn, Bobby Blackburn; sister Willy Mae Fitzgerald; daughter Kathy Lynn Carmichael; and granddaughter Melissa Lee Whitaker.

She is survived by her son Mike Carmichael and daughter Countess Lee and their spouses, Kathy and Peter; three grandchildren Whitney Taylor, Abby Pate, Robert Carmichael; and six great-grandchildren.
