Enid, Oklahoma - Funeral services for Duane M. Owen, 97, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Eric Granberg and Gordon Jantz officiating. Burial with Military Honors, provided by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard, will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, May 26th, at the funeral home.

Duane was born August 24, 1927, in Vernon, Texas, to Roy and Dora Owen, and passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Enid.

Duane was raised in Doanes Community, north of Vernon, Texas. He graduated from Northside High School in 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country during WWII.

He married Mary Halford on March 2, 1947, in Vernon, Texas. He had a long career in the oilfield industry, working for Sinclair and Atlantic Richfield. He and Mary lived in Garber for many years. In 1968, he was transferred to Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. In 1990, he and Mary moved back to Enid, where they spent their retirement.

Duane is survived by two children, Roger Owen and wife Charlotte, of Enid, and Linda and Glenn Kiefer, of Maypearl, Texas; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Mary Owen; four brothers; and four sisters.

Memorial contributions in Duane's name may be made to the Westview Boys Home, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
