A Reflection of Love, Family, and Dedication
Dorothy Jean Bolenbaugh was born on December 9th, 1936, in Ralston, Oklahoma, to Carl and Myrtle Wills and departed on the morning of May 24th, 2025.
She was one of seven children, with three brothers, James Wills, Carl Joe Wills, and Alfred Curley Wills, and three sisters, Elsie Murphy, Loretta Wills, and Frankie Porter.
Dorothy graduated from Pawnee, Oklahoma, and furthered her education at Oklahoma State University, where she earned two Bachelor's degrees in Science and Math.
It was during her college years that she met the love of her life, Keith Bolenbaugh, at the freshman dance. They married on August 10th, 1958, in Masham, Oklahoma, and together they established their life in Hunter, Oklahoma, on the farm. There, they raised three beautiful daughters: Pauletta Jean Cook, Kay Dawn Dillon, and Amy Jo Hammock, and laid to rest one beautiful daughter: Keri Renee Bolenbaugh.
Dorothy was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church and actively participated in the United Methodist Women's group. She was also a member of the country club homemakers. A tough and resilient lady, Dorothy enjoyed numerous activities, including going to church, gardening, knitting, farming, sewing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Keri Bolenbaugh, all her brothers, and one sister, Elsie Murphy, as well as her grandson Clinton Dean Dillon.
Dorothy's legacy lives on through her beloved daughters and their families:
Pauletta Cook and her husband Jeff Cook, along with her grandsons Ryan Cook and his wife Anna, and Keston Cook.
Kay Dillon and her husband Mike Dillon, her grandson Devon Dillon and his wife Christina, and her granddaughter Ashley Dillon.
Amy Hammock and her husband Randy Hammock, her grandson Roy Hammock, and her granddaughter Randi Jo Hammock.
And great-grandkids Addison Simons, Clara Simons, Wylie Dillon, Beatrix Cook, And Hazel Dillon.
Dorothy's life was a testament to love, strength, and dedication, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
There will be a funeral service for Dorothy at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Hunter United Methodist Church, Hunter, OK. Reverend Jim Edmison will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, OK. Memorials may be made to the Hunter United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
