Pond Creek, OK - Dale R. Potter, 83, of Pond Creek, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 6, 2025, at 9:40 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. A private family interment will follow on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Dale was born on October 26, 1942, and lovingly adopted by Cecil and Mildred (Morgan) Potter. He graduated from Pond Creek High School in 1960 and soon after joined the United States Army in November of that year. Following Basic and Technical Training, he was assigned overseas to Seoul, Korea, where he met the love of his life, Yong Ja (Kim). They married on November 6, 1962, beginning a lifelong adventure together while raising a family and traveling the world. Dale proudly served his country for 24 years before retiring and returning home to Pond Creek.

In retirement, Dale pursued many hobbies, with his greatest passion being Ham radios. He faithfully attended the annual Ham Fest in Enid and enjoyed signing on to the "net" every evening at 8:00, delighting in conversations with people across the globe. His curiosity about electronics led him to take things apart just to understand how they worked, and eventually to build his own computeR — an accomplishment that impressed his children.

Dale also cherished family traditions, especially the Fourth of July, when he would spend the day setting off fireworks with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, ending with a spectacular display for all to enjoy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Yong (Kim) Potter; daughters Joan (Brenda) and Jackie Potter Winn; nine grandchildren, Michael Winn (Lacey), Christopher Winn, Jennifer Winn, Lisa Baker, Alexis Johnson, Isaac Johnson, Christian Potter, Jenna Potter, and Nicholas Potter; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son David Eric, his parents Mildred and Cecil Potter, and his sister Francis Zimmerman.

Dale will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and his boundless curiosity. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched and the memories he created.

Memorials may be made to Tradition Hospice or Pond Creek Methodist Church in care of Wilson Funeral Home.
