Edmond, OK - Cecil Don "Don" Wilton, 85, of Edmond, OK, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK, with interment following at Gracelawn Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Baggerley Funeral Home.

Don was born September 11, 1940, in Jacksboro, Texas, to Melvin Wayman and Thelma Mae (Sheppard) Wilton. After graduating from Bryson High School he began his career in the Texas oilfields, and through years of hard work and dedication he retired as a Production Superintendent for an independent Oklahoma oil and gas company.

Don married Barbara Lynn Souther on November 21, 1959. They shared 42 years of marriage and raised three children together before her passing in 2002. In 2006, Don married his high school sweetheart Mary Joan "Joann" Wilton, and they enjoyed 20 years together.

Don was devoted to his family, rarely missing his children's and grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed classic country music, dancing, traveling to Branson, making homemade peanut clusters at Christmas, and gathering with family each week for visiting and dessert. His faith was central to his life, and he and Joan enjoyed attending Cowboy Church.

He is survived by his children Marlin Wilton and wife Patty, Cory Wilton and wife Nyla, Lee Anne and husband Jody Potter; stepsons Ronald Boyce and friend Loretta Everett, Michael Boyce and wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Barbara Lynn Wilton, Mary Joan "Joann"Wilton; and his sister, Margie Harbour.

Don will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, generosity and unwavering love for his family and friends.
