Mrs. Brenda Kay Friesen, age 56, passed away Wednesday evening, March 19, 2025, at her residence in Enid, OK. She was born May 31, 1968, in Kingsburg, CA, to Viola Mae Truitt and the late Robert Maxwell Truitt.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Truitt; one brother: Robert Truitt; two unborn children; and two unborn grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kevin Friesen; three children: Alison and Mateo Dickey, Thomas and Madelyn Friesen, and Katie and Ben Rebmann; grandchildren: Elliot, Collin, and Wesley; mother: Viola Truitt; two siblings: sister Susan and Isaac Myers, and brother Mike and Kim Truitt, and several other family members.
As a wife, Brenda was steadfast, consistent, gentle, patient, kind, loving, and fun. Her adorning was the "hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which in God's sight is very precious" (1 Peter 3:4). Brenda loved being married, and loved Kevin deeply and faithfully.
As a mother, Brenda poured herself into her family. Her desire to raise children started when she was a little girl and was the great passion of her life. She absolutely loved being a mom and keeping the home. "Her children rise up and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28).
Brenda enjoyed flower gardening, music, and embroidery, and was a wonderful cook. She had a beautiful singing voice and could harmonize with nearly any song. She loved going on long road trips with the family, camping, and later on visiting her grown children in Northwest Arkansas. She rejoiced in seeing her children married and pursuing God.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2500 N. Van Buren St. in Enid (where Crosspoint Church gathers). Pastor Asher Griffin will be officiating.
