Alva, OK - A Celebration of Life for Bill Farris will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, with Steve Hamm and Todd Holder officiating. Visitation with family present will be Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Billy Wayne, son of Wayne H. and Marie (Eckels) Farris, was born June 17, 1938, at Dacoma, and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family January 22, 2026, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 5 days.

Bill was raised on the farm near Dacoma and graduated from Dacoma High School. Baseball was his passion, and he played summer league baseball in Enid for George Failing. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State College, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1962 and played baseball all four years. During the summers, he played in a league in McPherson, Kansas, for Van Johnson.

On March 21, 1958, he was united in marriage to Ja Deanna J. Smith at the Dacoma Church of God. To this union two daughters were born: La Deanna and Pamela. He taught school and coached in Oklahoma and Kansas for many years before working at the USDA Farm Service Agency as a Technician. Bill and Ja Deanna moved to Alva in 2005, retiring from the Farm Service Agency in 2011 after 23 years of service.

He was a member of the Dacoma Church of God. Family was important to Bill, especially his grandsons. He attended all of their sporting events and activities. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and traveling.

Besides his parents, Wayne and Marie, he was preceded in death by his brother and his wife, Max and Marie Farris; his brother-in-law, Leroy Loges; and a infant grandson, Cody Don Wiebener.

Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Ja Deanna Farris of Alva; his daughters, La Deanna "Dee" Wiebener and her husband, Jack, of Alva, and Pam Gale and her husband, Steve, of Alva; his brothers, Ernie Farris and his wife, Genevieve, of Alva, and John Farris and his wife, Vicki, of Missouri; his sister, Kay Loges of Alva; four grandsons, Taylor Wiebener and his wife, Natalie, of Kingston, Jeremy Wiebener and his wife, Mackenzie, of Alva, Mitchell Gale and his wife, Rayel, of Penhold, AB, Canada, and Tyson Gale and his wife, Gabby, of Union City, Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kaya, Taylie, Nash, Giovanna, Truitt, and Carmella; other relatives and friends.

Bill loved God, his Family, Baseball, and Golf.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home in his memory to the NWOSU Ranger Baseball, Alva Golf and Country Club, or the Dacoma Church of God.
