Melva Jean's Story
The funeral for Melva Jean Lack Bay is 12 noon Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Garriott Road Church of Christ, with Ray Rose officiating.
Burial follows in the Hominy Cemetery, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Melva was born April 14, 1945, in Pocasset, to William Harvey and Maymie Etta (Shook) Russell, and passed away May 23, 2017.
Melva was raised in Waynoka and attended area schools, graduating from Waynoka High School in 1963.
After high school, she married Thomas "Buster" Lack Jr. and the couple traveled the world while Buster was in the oilfield. Buster passed away in 1991, after which Melva moved to Dallas, Texas.
She married Harlan Bay on August 11, 2007, and the couple made Enid their home.
Melva was a faithful member of Garriott Road Church of Christ, and she was a full-time mother.
She enjoyed dancing and singing all kinds of music, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a very fun, vivacious lady who everyone loved being around.
Melva is survived by husband, Harlan; daughters, Carla Lack of Enid; Dawnde Buckley and husband, John of West Chester, Pa.; Bryan Bay and wife, Cindy of Enid; nine grandchildren; and sister Artie Dougherty and husband, Larry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Buster, and three siblings.
Memorials may be made to Garriott Road Church of Christ, with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
