The service celebrating the life of Mrs. Melinda Winkelman, 59, Enid, is 2 p.m. Friday June 23, 2017, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Carol Coulter officiating.
Burial follows in the Paradise Cemetery, Breckenridge. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born June 28, 1957, to Mr. Frank Henry and Neva Young McGill in Oneonta Ala., and passed from this life June 20, 2017, at her home with her family at her side. She attended Enid public schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1975.
Sept. 21, 1975, she married Roy Winkelman in Enid. She had a passion for caring for children and worked as a child care provider for many years at the First Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She attended the Enid Main Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband, Roy of the home; daughter, Alisha Merriman and husband Robert, of Enid; son, Milton Winkelman; mother, Neva McGill of Enid; three sisters, Rhonda A. Danks, of Enid, Lysetta E. Powell and husband Lee, of Ponca City, and Levena J. Bliss , of Enid; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandson Alex.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer society, or to Hospice Circle of Love, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
