Funeral services for Lois Gibson, 75, will be Thursday July 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Pond Creek, OK, with Brother Les Washnock and Brother Bob Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pond Creek Cemetery Association, in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be Monday evening, July 3, 2017, from 6-7 at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, OK.
Lois was born June 2, 1942 in Fayetteville, AR, the daughter of William Isaac and Delilah Riggs Day. She died June 30, 2017, at the Wakita Community Health Center.
Lois lived in the Jefferson and Pond Creek areas most of her life. She attended Jefferson School.
She married Richard Gibson on 12-25-1959 and they made Pond Creek their home.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge; she cooked and was manager of the cafeteria at the Pond Creek School for 5 1/2 years. She was cook at the cafes in Pond Creek for many years. She also was a member and manager of the Sunshine Center, where she made a countless number of quilts.
Lois loved the kids as if they were her own. She never missed a ballgame or any other event they were involved in.
Survivors include countless nieces and nephews, especially those closest to her, Errol and Denise Czapansky, Holly, Connor and Payton; Randy, Loretta and Michael Czapansky, Tiffani and Dalton Maker, Sam and Teresa Bentley, Trinity, Zoe, Zane and Kurt; Justin and Rachelle Bentley, Kate and Jolie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; 2 sisters, Gladys Foster and twin Lola Czapansky; one brother, Virgil (Sonny) Day; and her parents, William and Delilah.
