Jimmy's Story

Text size

Jimmy Russell Brummett, also lovingly known as "Brum," entered eternity on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
A veteran and recently named 42nd Mason of Broken Arrow Lodge #243, he lived for a majority of his life in Wagoner, until recently moving to Tulsa.
For all of us who knew Jim, we will always remember his laugh, orneriness and zest for life. He enjoyed being a daredevil during his scuba diving, speed boating and parasailing, to name just a few, but it was a chance encounter with a stranger, as a young boy, that spurred his lifelong love for Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He restored classic cars and went on several motorcycle rallies. A couple included Toys for Tots, Sturgis and Full Throttle Saloon.
To say he lived his life and to the fullest would be an understatement. He loved to laugh and laughed all the way to the end, thanks to the love, laughter and care of Jamie and Monty Baker.
He was dedicated to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fur babies, Beanie and Harley.
Never through the years did he lose the love he had for his beloved Sharon, mother to his children.
A wonderful man with a swift Vulcan neck pinch. A true comedian with a large smile and matching heart.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents C.Y. Brummett and Genevie, daughter Debbie McCollough, and beloved Sharon Brummett.
He is survived by his daughter Jamie Brummett Baker and husband Monty of Tulsa, sister Jody Brummett of Enid, three grandchildren, Rachel Keeley and her husband Matt, Nathan and Preston Lindley, two great-grandchildren Caleb Lindley and Benjamin Keeley, along with other friends who will miss him tremendously.
A ceremony to honor the life of Jim is 2 p.m. today, June 3, 2017, located at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, with Military Honors and Life Celebrant Anita J. Shipman officiating .
Arrangements have been entrusted to Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. A private burial will be held, on a later date at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
