Eva Leona's Story
Eva Leona Martens was born to P.A. and Maria Karber Martens on a farm south of Fairview, Oklahoma, on May 29, 1926, and passed away at the age of 91 on Saturday October 7, 2017, at Fairview Regional Medical Hospital.
She attended the South Mennonite Brethren Church in her early years, and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl.
Eva worked beside her husband Ike, milking cows, driving truck and tractor, and cooked meals for her family as well as the numerous hired hands during harvest and on custom harvest trips.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Issac Neufeld; daughter, Linda Carol Neufeld; son, Bruce Neufeld; brothers, David Martens, Walter Martens, Peter Martens, Benjamin Martens, and Henry Martens; sister, Mary Esther Martens.
Survivors include two sons, Don Neufeld; and Keith Neufeld and wife Vicky; all of Fairview; one daughter, Jean Neufeld and husband Rickey Loving, of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren include Tyler Neufeld, Logan Neufeld, Brooklyn Neufeld, Keeton Neufeld, Kale Neufeld and wife Kristan, and Samantha Loving; one great-granddaughter, Ellie Neufeld.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church, with the Rev. Marlin Hiett officiating.
Interment will follow in the North M.B. Cemetery, under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview, OK.
