Ula (Tudie) Koons Allen, 85, went to be with her Savior on December 8, 2017 at her home. Ula was born on her family farm south of Ringwood on January 4, 1932 to Gene and Pearl Koons. Ula was the youngest of nine children. When Ula was sixteen years old she met her sweetheart, Melvin (Red) Allen. They were married on September 17, 1948. They had two children, Sandra and Jackey, and also raised a nephew, Dewey Holdeman.
Ula and Red loved traveling. They went to Germany three times and have visited every state in the union. Ula was always the navigator on their driving adventures. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, fishing and camping, but none of that gave her as much joy as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Ula was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Ringwood. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and son-in-law, Leonard Webber.
She is survived by her husband, Red of sixty-nine years; brother Jim Koons and wife, Cora; sister, Betty Kemp; two children, Sandra Webber of Ringwood and Jack Allen and wife, Irene of Ringwood; nephew, Dewey Holdeman and wife, Glenda of Ft. Supply; grandchildren, Chad Webber, Devin Webber, Leland Webber and wife, Suelynn all of Ringwood, Gretchen Siler and husband, Bryan of Ringwood, Heidi Haines and husband, Brandon of Fort Worth, Texas, Jim Allen and wife, Kelley of Miami, Texas, Don Holdeman and wife, Diane, Debbie Day and Dana Harper; great-grandchildren, Alli King and husband, Dayton, Ethan, Matthias and Max Siler, Averi and Blake Haines, Ashtyn and Lainey Allen, Kaleb and Dillon Evans, Shiann and Kyle Goldman and one great-granddaughter, Mila King.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or Glenwood Cemetery through the funeral home.
