Marita Farnsworth, 57 year old Sharon resident, passed from this life on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Alliance Woodward Hospital. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016, in the Sharon United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the North Persimmon Cemetery, with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
From her birth on Nov. 9, 1958, until her death on Saturday, she was a source of happiness to her family and friends. She was born in Mooreland to L.D. and Leta (Manning) Farnsworth.
She spent most of her life in Vici and Sharon. She loved being surrounded by family and delighted in hearing of the escapades of her nieces and nephews.
She had a remarkable collection of angels. Family and friends gave her figurines that were displayed in her room. She also collected bracelets, a collection that grew until both arms were almost covered up. She and her sister Cathy would craft the bracelets, making each one an original design.
She was a true blue OKC Thunder fan. Even though blue was her favorite color, she always wore an orange shirt on game days and covered up with her Thunder blanket. She loved to travel and one of her favorite places to go was Coyote Creek, New Mexico, where she could fish.
She delighted in attending church at the Sharon United Methodist Church and listening to the music.
One of the highlights of her time here on earth was family gatherings. She adored being around people, especially relatives. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Amos and Juanita Manning; and paternal grandparents, Mark and Erma Farnsworth.
She is survived by her parents, L.D. and Leta Farnsworth, of Sharon; her sisters, Sheryl Melton and her husband, LaVern, of Beaver; and Cathy Jones and her husband, Bob, of Cleo Springs; and her brother, Mark Farnsworth and his wife, Dwana, of Sharon.
