Funeral services for Leola Fern Haltom, 94, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Green Valley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Keller officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.
Leola Fern Haltom, daughter of the late Clyde Rossie and Violet May (Nusser) Hill, was born February 19, 1923, on the farm south of Hopeton, Oklahoma, and passed away August 29, 2017, at Alva, Oklahoma.
Leola attended Lone Star rural school for eight years and graduated from Dacoma High School. In October, 1945, she was united in marriage to Milo Vernon Haltom at her parents home northwest of Waynoka. They lived on a farm south of Hopeton where they farmed and ranched.
She was a member of the Green Valley Free Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milo; four brothers, Boyd Hill, Robert Hill, Delmer Hill, and Clyde Hill, Jr.; and one half sister, Allene Welch.
Leola is survived by one sister, Lois Nutter and husband, Don, of Waynoka; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Share Convalescent Home Activity Fund or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for heart research.
