John Diedrich Lohse, 83, passed from this life peacefully at Garland Road Rehab and Nursing Center Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
His graveside service is 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Covington Community Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Donaldson officiating. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
John was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Covington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Anna (Foth) Lohse, great-uncle, Henry Lohse, long-time partner, Shirley Cole, and brother, Willie Lohse.
John served our country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, in South Korea.
He worked in the oilfield until 1992. Upon the death of his brother, he took up farming and house painting.
John is survived by his sisters, Helen Lohse Brown of Enid and Marie Lohse Fischer; nephews, Dennis Fischer and wife, Wanda; Mark Fischer and wife, Debbie; niece, Denise Fischer Knouse and husband, Gene, all of Covington; and niece, Lori Lohse McVay of Sunneyvale, Calif.
Memorials may be made in his name, through the funeral home, to Tri-County Senior Citizens Center.
