Memorial service for Jack Gregory, Enid, formerly of Carmen, is 11 a.m. today, Sept. 12, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Carmen with the Rev. Kirk Board officiating.
Family burial is in the Carmen City Cemetery, under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC, Carmen.
Jack Clinton Gregory, son of the late Orlando L. and Daisy Opal (Decker) Gregory, was born Feb. 22, 1933, at Carmen and passed away Sept. 9, 2017, at Enid, at the age of 84 years.
Jack graduated from Carmen High School. He played football at Cameron University before transferring to Oklahoma A & M, where he graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from Oklahoma A&M.
He moved to southern California to practice equine medicine at the racetracks for more than a decade, before returning to his Oklahoma roots.
Besides his parents, O.L. and Daisy, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen.
Jack is survived by his wife, Doris of Enid; one son, Larry Gregory and wife, Kathy, of Carmen, one daughter, Linda Myers and husband, Mark, of Bartlesville; one brother, Dr. Jay Gregory and wife, Tobi, of Muskogee; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the United Methodist Church in Carmen or Carmen First Responders.
