Elizabeth "Betty"'s Story
Betty passed away September 10, 2017, surrounded by family.
The second of four daughters of William David Lawellin and Ethel Mildred (Shorter) Lawellin was born August 5, 1930, in Goltry, OK.
She grew up in rural Goltry, OK, where at the age of 2 she performed tightrope, rings, and trapeze acts with her father at local county fairs.
After graduating from Enid Business College, she traveled the world as a military spouse before settling in Dodge City, KS, as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration.
She spent her golden years in Texas with her daughter, Judy Cashwell, and her family.
Her passions were her grandchildren, reading, and crossword puzzles.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Debra Reed, her parents, sisters Helen Lee Stevens and Billie Jayne LeForce.
She is survived by her children, Harold J. Reed and Judy Cashwell; four grandchildren, Angela and Andrew Reed, Jacob and Cheyenne Cashwell; one great-grandson, Jack Reed; her sister, Ethel Fern Hildinger; and nine nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm, September 30, 2017, at Karoma Cemetery in Goltry, OK.
