The funeral for Donna Jo Taber, 84 year-old Enid resident, is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2018, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, the Reverend Gary Goins officiating.
Burial follows at 3:00 p.m., Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, Kansas. Services are entrusted to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Visitation with family is 6-7:00 p.m. this evening, August 8, 2018, in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.
Donna was born December 9, 1933, in Quincy, Illinois, to Joseph and Alma (Henson) Rowden, and died Sunday, August 5, 2018, in Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She graduated from high school in Independence with the class of 1951. On December 24, 1958, she married Marion Taber. The couple made their first home in Golden City, MO, and later Sarcoxie, MO. The couple moved to Springfield, MO, where they raised three children. In 1982, they moved to Kiowa, Kansas.
Later in life, she attended nursing school in Alva. She practiced as a nurse in Kiowa, KS, until her retirement.
Donna was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, liked crochet and crossstitch, and was very artistic. Mostly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Debra Harlan and husband, Richard; Gena Fitzpatrick and husband, Kevin; William Taber and wife, Cheryl; six grandchildren, Rob, Tyler, Zach, Rhett, Jacob, Justin; as well as five great-grandchildren, Cayley, Audrey, Hunter, Cole, and River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be given to Bible Baptist Church, through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Donna was such a sweet and special lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Our love and prayers are with her family during this time.

I worked with Donna at the hospital. She was a very good Nurse and she taught me many things. We had some very good moments together while working. I have missed her about town. I will miss her forever. God bless her family.
