Carobelle's Story

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Carobelle Marie Janssen Carson will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, in the Garber Gym, with the Rev. Travis Orr and the Rev. Tim Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Carobelle was born to Herbert Harmon and Edna Anna Bertha (Helberg) Janssen, on Dec. 30, 1937, in Enid, and passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at her home in Garber.
Carobelle graduated from Garber High School and attended Oklahoma State University. She was the city clerk for Garber and Fairmont.
Carobelle was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was active. She was a member of the Lions Club, and was the first female District Governor of Lions Clubs International in Oklahoma. Carobelle was a treasurer of numerous organizations.
Carobelle is survived by her sons Jerry Carson (Dee), of Garber, and Chuck Carson (Helene) of Yukon; three grandchildren Gabe, Josh and Nick Carson; five great-grandchildren; four brothers Ivan Janssen of Texas, Arlo Janssen of Florida, Larry Janssen of New Mexico and Audrey Janssen of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Trey, grandson Matt and sister Ivona.
