Bob's Story

Bob Douglas was born on a farm, to Russel and Jane Douglas, in Douglas. He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1954, as class valedictorian.
Bob and Chris were married May 26, 1956, at the Bible Baptist Church of Enid, where they took up residence.
Together, they had three children, Mark, DeLane and Brad.
Bob felt the Lord's calling to preach, so they loaded up the three kids and moved to Lawton in 1963, where they started a church congregation which is still going today as Lawton Baptist Tabernacle.
In 1972, Bob, Chris and the kids moved to Del City, where Bob began the Bob Douglas Plumbing Company, which he owned until he retired in 2002.
He taught an adult Sunday school class, and was deacon at Heritage Baptist Church of Edmond.
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Christene, son Mark (Cindy) Douglas, daughter DeLane (Don) Horton, and son Brad Douglas.
Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Glen Douglas, Gene (Virginia) Douglas.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brother Rex Douglas.
Family will be greeting friends at a reception 6-8 p.m. today, June 22, 2017, at Crawford Funeral Service, Edmond.
Funeral service for Bob is 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Waterloo Cemetery.
