Betty Jean (Manning) Jardot was born in Stillwater Sept. 3, 1927, to Delas B. and Nancy Minerva Manning.
Betty attended Stillwater Public Schools and graduated in May 1945.
On Dec. 13, 1945, Betty married Louis Martin Jardot in the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater.
She worked there at F.W. Woolworth until Louis was discharged from the Merchant Marines.
Betty and Louis lived in Stillwater until 1954, when they moved to Oklahoma City, and then to Pond Creek in 1955.
She worked for the U.S. Post Office in Pond Creek for over 22 years, retiring in 1989. Betty also helped Louis at Pond Creek Floral until they sold the shop in 1990.
Betty was best known for baking sourdough bread, knitting and crocheting hundreds of pot holders and dish cloths and sending greeting cards to friends and family far and wide.
She was also an active member of the First Christian Church of Pond Creek. Betty was a good friend to everyone who had the gift of knowing her.
Survivors include children Teresa Aebi and Joe Jardot both of Pond Creek; Leo Jardot (Debbie) of McLean, Va.; and Ron Jardot of Lancaster, Calif.
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include, Todd Aebi, Heather and Emma Aebi; Tony and Melisa Aebi, Madelyn and Malorie Smith; Jennifer, Wayne and Karli Mahan; Troy and Ashley Jardot, Taryn and Sevryn; Lance Jardot; Ben Jardot, Maggie Jardot; Craig, Jennifer, Keely, Ace and Cruz Jardot; brother-in-law Walter Rossander and many nieces and nephews.
Betty's beloved husband Louis, five sisters, four brothers, and son-in-law Bill Aebi, preceded her in death.
The service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the First Christian Church, Pond Creek. Burial immediately follows the service, at the Pond Creek Cemetery.
To honor Betty's life, her family has created the "Betty and Louis Jardot Renovation Fund," for the First Christian Church in Pond Creek. Memorial gifts may be sent to the church at P.O. Box 420, Pond Creek 73766, or to Wilson Funeral Home, 227 W. Aspen Ave., Pond Creek, OK 73766.
