Interment follows in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Betty was born February 5, 1936, on the family farm near Independence, Kansas, to James and Lula Mae (Damewood) Richardson, and passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, in Enid.
She married Jim Yell November 4, 1953, in Coffeyville, Kansas, and to this union four children were born. They moved to Enid in 1969. She went to work as a machinist for Central Machine & Tool, where she met Glen Kroll. They were married on September 23, 1994.
They both eventually retired and moved to Breckenridge to be closer to their farm. Betty was a devout Christian and loved Jesus. She and Glen were members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont. They farmed in the Fairmont, Garber, and Breckinridge areas until Glen passed away in 2016.
Music was an important part of Betty's life. She loved singing, writing music, and playing her guitar. She was a talented quilt maker, making quilts for her family members. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and her beloved dog Lulu.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, James and Lula Mae Richardson; husband Glen Kroll; brother, Bruce Allen Richardson; nephew, Allen Richardson; grandson, Danny Miller Jr.; and son-in-law, Bill Halliburton.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Estes and husband Randy, of Enid; Cristi Power, of Enid; two sons, Jim Yell and wife Cathy, of Delaware, OK; Rockie Yell and wife Jackie, of Coffeyville, KS; three step-sons, Lynn, Joe, and Tony Kroll, and their families; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, June Rexwinkle; as well as many nephews, cousins, and other family.
